As promised in yesterday's post, today we're visiting Tim Vojt's neighbor Linda's garden in Columbus, Ohio. Linda wasn't home when we wandered down to her house, so I stayed on the sidewalk for these photos. But luckily, when Tim asked Linda if we could feature her garden, she said yes! Alas, she does not use a computer (amazing!), so Tim will have to share all of your comments with her on paper, or have her look over his shoulder the next time she visits him. So don't hold back your comments, thinking she won't see them!
As soon as we arrived at Linda's house, I knew that this is a gardener who loves to play. Her garden is whimsical and homey, in the best possible way. It's very cottage-y and cosy, and I love it. It was hard not to walk right in and get a closer look...

pattyspencer writes: Trust me Michelle - I'm the epitome of what NOT to do - there is so much wrong with my gardening that words cannot explain - lol I should send you a pic of my veggie garden so you can have a good laugh. But I would have loved to meet you - and maybe some other time I will. Posted: 9:58 pm on June 29th
MichelleGervais writes: That said, later in July I'll be heading up past Boston, through New Hampshire, and into Maine on a photo shoot trip. I'm open to visiting anyone along the way! Posted: 12:09 pm on June 29th
MichelleGervais writes: Aw man!! pattyspencer, I totally would've come to visit you--I had plenty of time! Darnit! Posted: 12:07 pm on June 29th
Sheila_Schultz writes: Linda... the garden space and containers in front of your home are perfection. I can't pinpoint what makes it all so inviting, but I know it makes me smile looking at the photos! Posted: 11:03 am on June 29th
pattyspencer writes: Beautiful! I love how everything seems to flow. Is that a huge jade plant on the railing???

Glad Michelle didn't stop to see me (I'm only a few miles away from Tim and Linda) or maybe she should have to show what a really really bad garden looks like - lol Posted: 9:14 am on June 29th

I have to agree with meander1, a vertual cateract of flora cascading in flumes of rapid profusion, I don't know where to look first. I haven't decided if that's a real window on the porch or a mirror specifically placed to reflect the obverse of the plants, a very nice effect. And I love the color of the potted plant in the last picture, that contrasting tree adds interest in form too. A lovely plant palette, thank you.

ncgardener writes: Love it, love it, love it! I hope you get a chance to feature the back and/or side yard. Sitting on that porch must be so relaxing. I would love to hear the story of how the garden came together and the history of her gardening techniques. Please feature her again later. Posted: 7:42 am on June 29th
cwheat000 writes: Your garden and house are lovely. I am even more impressed how manicured everything is, considering you weren't expecting all of us to be seeing it today. Posted: 7:21 am on June 29th
cwrosten writes: I love the variety in color and texture as the eye goes from the blue base up to the strawberry-turned-succulent pot. Posted: 7:17 am on June 29th
meander1 writes: Love the effect the laddering of the plant stuffed pots gives along the stairs and railing of the front porch. It would certainly draw me up the walkway to get to that waterfall of interesting colors and textures. Yes, I certainly hope Linda allows another round of pictures to be shot and shared! duckcovegardening writes: You have combined your front garden plants beautifully. It is so befitting for the character and architecture of your home, and I love the cacti as a focal point, as that is really period appropriate! More pictures, please, of the rest of your wonderful space. Posted: 6:41 am on June 29th
