I love my garden as much as I love reality television. When it's time to spend Saturday either weeding or catching up on a marathon, there is a crisis of conscience.

But a few months ago, I discovered the viral blog http://whatshouldwecallme.tumblr.com/. I began to translate daily life into moving .gif images from my favorite programs, like those witty bloggers do on their site. So naturally, when another Saturday had me torn between hori-hori and remote control, I chose neither and put these together instead.

When a neighbor told me Sevin helped him grow the lettuce in the salad we were sharing, I was just like:

 

Everytime I find a new container at Terrain, it's just like:

Boxwood blight:

 

When people come over and I'm trying to pass off a bed I forgot to weed:

When my seedlings flop over, even under the grow light, all I've got to say is:

Finding deer nibbles every morning:

 

Standing by my plants when Irene rolled though:

 

When pedestrians help themselves to a lilac or hydrangea bloom at the edge of the yard:
