READER PHOTOS! Nancy's garden in New York
comments (10) November 16th, 2011 in blogs
Today's photos are from Nancy Ridenour in Ithaca, New York. She says, "About 10 years ago, I purchased 6 lotus plants from the Ithaca farmer's market and placed them at the edge of my pond. They quickly spread and now there are hundreds of plants that bloom abundantly each year. The flowers are splendid and attract many visitors. I am scheduled for a Garden Conservancy tour next August." Beautiful, Nancy, thanks for sharing! Nancy has a blog--check it out here!

Lotus definitely have leaves. The first leaf comes up in May/June and the larger one June/July. These are not the same leaves as a pond lily. Lotus grow up to 5' above the water. Posted: 10:20 am on November 16th
