What is this plant?

I have recently moved into a new house and no one seems to know what this is.  The theories range from a weed to some kind of shrub.  I am posting from New Zealand.

eglantyne writes: That is a nicotiana. They are annuals, but often reseed. I believe it's a langsdorffi. (Not sure of the spelling.) Very nice and desirable. Posted: 10:24 pm on November 16th
