This taller, large-leaved perennial can grow to 3 feet. It produces a small cluster of single lemon yellow flowers at the top of the stem which open in mid-late summer. (The only bloom to open this year was very short-lived. Its mate was completely devoured while still in bud by a squirrel or some other urban forager.) The plant is not at all invasive, though it is very persistent. Please help me identify it.

cxsdia writes: That is a Kirengeshoma Palmata. Kirengeshoma means "yellow lotus hat" in Japanese I think. Also known as "wax bells". I have this plant in part shade in zone 4B. I love it. Posted: 6:45 pm on October 2nd
