This plant just popped up in the yard and is spreading everywhere! It is very fleshy and does not pull out of the ground, it simply breaks off. I'm having to resort to chemicals to keep it from taking over the yard! Can anyone identify this plant so I know how to erradicate it from the yard? I should mention this is growing in Minneapolis in zone 4.

Alternatively, it could be ceratostigma plumbaginoides, a groundcover perennial with blue blossoms in the fall.
Both have very similar alternate leaves with fleshy stems.
