"Charlie" Flowers

These little flowers bloom only in the Spring reaching a height of about 6 inches.  They have grass-like leaves and coral blooms.  We call them "Charlie" flowers after my father-in-law since he was the one who started saving the seeds and passing them on to family members.  Thanks for your help.

ElizabethJoest writes: Thanks so much Poinsettia. I believe my mystery is finally solved. I love the name "fairy flowers" as well as "spring beauties". After further research I believe these are Claytonia, which is of the Portulacaceae family. Posted: 10:02 am on August 29th
Poinsettia writes: It looks like something in the family Portulacaceae, but what a rare color.

I have something similar in pink which we referred to as "fairy flowers" until I identified them as Spring Beauties. Posted: 4:44 pm on August 26th
