Slideshow: A Self-Sown Garden
comments (2) May 13th, 2011 in blogs
Produced by: Ruth Dobsevage and Michelle Gervais
In midsummer, Dean Riddle's garden in upstate New York is in splendid form, and he lets the plants, mostly self-sowers, do most of the work. In the July/August 2011 issue of Fine Gardening, (#140), Dean describes how his garden went from a "kempt" vegetable plot to a wild profusion of ornamentals. You'll also find instructions for creating a self-sown garden of your own and a list of plants to use. Read "A Garden that Plants Itself" for details.

Beautiful garden! I would just be more careful about what to plant. Even with a watchful eye invasives can 'flee'. :) I believe we all should look out for that. Posted: 4:08 pm on May 30th
