What is the name of this purple orchid.  It blooms only in early spring (late Feb) in Southern California.

susanand writes: Thank you, I have looked at some pictures online of the dendrobium you mentioned and they do look like my orchid. I have cropped a couple of my pictures so the flower can be better seen and will upload them. I really appreciate the answer! Posted: 11:38 am on April 27th
Denisey writes: It looks a little like dendrobium kingianum? The timing of flowering is just about right, but...this plant is native to australia, I believe. I would have to see a closer picture of the flower to be sure. Posted: 11:36 am on April 25th
