Jack Hyland and Larry Wente created a stunning sight with this small field of tall verbena (Verbena bonariensis, USDA Hardiness Zones 7-11) in their garden in Millerton, New York. We like how it's layered with the mass of 'Fireworks' goldenrod (Solidago rugosa 'Fireworks', Zones 5-9) beyond, and the mass of sweet autumn clematis (Clematis paniculata, Zones 5-11) on the fence beyond that.
