Detail of leaves, which are approximately 3 inches.

I purchased this plant as a very small starter from a plant sale. I soon lost the information tag that came with it. It has grow very well and very much just since May. I planted it in an area of the yard where it gets both sun and shade and it seems to be doing well and getting larger. As you can see, the leaves are green and become purple-ish as they grow.  I've done countless image searches and I can find plants that are similar, but never quite the same. I seem to I recall the plant information stated that it will grow either as a shrub or single-lead tree, if pruned to do so. Sorry for the slightly-blurry photos.

doloresdelruby writes: Thanks, I will post if it blooms. I was thinking it looks a bit like a flowering plum but the leaf shape is not quite right for that. Posted: 1:34 pm on August 4th
