A few years back my oldest son was given liberty to develop this part of my yard. Originally it was all weeds, which we had previously bulldozed. One summer we went on vacation, gave him some money to work with, and told him to remove the 12" wide stone that lined our driveway. When we came home, he had bought, cut, installed the treated wood edging that lines this pathway, moved all the rock to the path and added the pavers. He also helped put some of the plants in, albeit some didn't really belong in the soil conditions, but he didn't know. Since then, this has become one of my favorite spots, especially after we added the swing. We even buried our beloved dog in a special spot. The dappled shade makes it perfect for a warm day sitting spot.
