Vines cling to their companions
comments (2) April 21st, 2010 in blogs
Vines are close companions—twining their way up through trees, shrubs, and smaller plants. Lisa D. Cady created this colorful, contrasting combination for a container in the Nancy Bryan Luce Garden at the New York Botanical Garden. The bright yellow-and-green-variegated foliage of potato vine (Solanum jasminoides 'Variegata') mingles among the deep purple flowers and dark grteen leaves of 'African Blue' basil (Ocimum basilicum 'African Blue').
