Gorgeous and Fragrant Ginkgos

The stinky ginkgo fruit contain nuts prized by some Asian gourmets. Mostly, the fleshy part of the fruit smells like vomit and my dog took this opportunity to roll on the deteriorating fruit for that extra special fragrance. The ginkgos are planted in a grove at the State Arboretum of Virginia and Blandy Experimental Farm in Boyce, Virginia. It's my favorite destination when the leaves all turn to warm golden yellow. I just need to remember to leave the dog at home.
