When a towering tulip poplar fell on my PG during Hurricane Isabel in 2003, I thought I had lost this beautiful bush forever. There were a few stems still intact and I carefully shaped it as best I could. Within a year it bounced back with a healthy bloom and has grown extremely well ever since. Its autumn colors are more brilliant than I can capture by camera!
