Morning Frost

Frosty mornings such as this don't usually happen until near the end of October each year. Many shrubs retain colourful foliage much later than the deciduous trees.

bungei writes: Marnpoo....our birches do make quite a nice backdrop for the rest of the garden. They seem to have some interest all year. Granted , they do have the rather nasty habit of dropping branches of various sizes during windy days, and also have roots that tend to intrude upon garden beds. We take the bad with the good! Marnpoo writes: I am so envious of your birches! They have such a wonderful presence, give real punch to the other colours in your delightful, serene woodland garden. A lovely vista. Posted: 11:11 am on November 11th
bungei writes: We do have "grounds"...that sometimes means we are never quite caught up. It is also quiet and peaceful. One needs to try and appreciate these fall days, even knowing the snow may soon be flying. Posted: 2:39 pm on November 10th
