The best surprises grow in a shady garden
comments (0) September 21st, 2009 in gallery
This summer combo grows in the dense shade of a southern magnolia. I planted the ferns but the hardy begonias (begonia grandis) grow each spring as they wish, popping up in new and unexpected places each year. A thoughful friend gave me the "parent" begonia over 30 years ago. She knew the plant and its offspring would make me happy, and she was right!
