Amaryllis Belladonna... Flowers from Daddy
comments (0) August 31st, 2009 in galleryThese flowers arrived in my garden quite by accident. Following the death of my Father in July of 1994, I was distraught and could not be consoled. The third day after his funeral, I noticed a sturdy stem, folded flower at the top, appearing from a bare spot in the garden. As I walked the garden and watched, each day for 13 days a new one appeared... gorgeous pink clusters of flowers that smell lovely. No one here planted them and I have long believed that Daddy sent them to me to console me in my grief. They arrive each year in unison on their appointed day as a rememberance of him. They are Daddy's Flowers.
