This is a strange little tree on the side of our house when we bought it eight years ago in Hollywood California.

We never water it but it continues to give these crazy flowers once a year. I would love to know what it is so I might take better care of it.

Thanks!

Pheel

sajina writes: caesalpinia gilliesil is the correct name. here in Bangalore , India we also call it peacock flowers. these flowers are found in different other combinations too. one of my neighbour has in pink combinations. this is actually a tree. so close to your house might not suit well untill it is pruned. they look very colourful when it is a tree.less maintainence is reguired for this tree.

happy gardening,
