As we worked to define our woodland garden, I decided to use a dead cedar to create the base for a platform feeder for the birds.  I wanted an arbor to create an entryway into the woods using materials from the area, so my husband thinned out several other cedars and created it.  Because of his scandanavian heritage, he decided to hand cut everything and built the arbor using only hand tools!
