I keep an old blender under the sink, which I fill with vegetable scraps, eggshells, and tea bags. The rubber seal on the lid prevents odors. When the container is full, I add water, blend, and then pour it into my compost tumbler. This “compost smoothie” adds needed moisture to the compost pile during the summer, and processing the material speeds the composting cycle.
