Is your turkey in the oven yet? Check out Irvin and Pauline Faria’s turkeys in the garden! He says, “Pauline’s garden is a Certified National Wildlife Habitat. Its woodland setting provides an ideal wildlife habitat. Among our visitors are these wild turkeys (Meleagris californica) who visit daily. At night they sleep in the oak trees, then awaken us in the morning with their distinctive gobbling call. Male “gobblers” show off their fanlike tail, bare head and bright beard while the hens look on. The hens generally lay 4-17 eggs in March and April but predator attacks results in few survivors, as is evident by the hens and chicks.” Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!     I love wild turkeys. I have them on my property here in the catskills. Here you can see some newly hatched and how they grew:

    Sorry to be late posting a comment. Hope Thanksgiving was great! I loved the turkeys and would love to see more of the garden sometime.
