After a delayed start to the season, things are now revving up in Jeff Calton's garden.
"This is Annabelle season and she is showing off with the flowers growing larger each day. The containers are starting to fill in after a long, rainy and very cool spring. The tropical are late to start flushing out. Next up with be daylily season then H. Limelight and Strawberry Vanilla and the list goes on."

Like the octopus garden!
Your garden always tickles my sense of fun and wonder, Jeff. Yes, I love the little octopus and you tucked him (maybe her) in the perfect place. He looks so at home and seems to be just waiting for Dory to swim by. The crevice planter looks great and who can argue with a serene view filled with the white bobbing heads of Annabelle hydrangeas.

Very creative and beautiful gardens!!!! I enjoyed seeing the octopus tucked between the plants and you certainly have an eye for the whimsy!! I enjoy all hydrangeas and so glad to see Annabelle in bloom! Well manicured lawn and gardens and it would be a fun to visit your gardens!

oh there are weeds but I do pull weeds whenever I see them and never ever ever let them go to seed

Outstanding, Jeff. Blown away as usual each time I get these views into your garden. Really enjoying the octopus garden...that's a cool sculpture. Maybe name him Octavius?
Whew, where to start? That kettle with the huge salvia was awesome, annabelles are always a favorite, the slab planting looks fantastic and the succulents, charm, whimsy (can't have enough pot heads) and lush views are all mesmerizing.

Amazing! I love, love, love the grill, the table, and crevice gardens! I want to try a tray/table garden. Those pitcher plants are striking. I purchased my very first, very small, rather pricey nepenthes but he's sporting little baby pitchers - I am so excited. You have a wonderful arrangement of interesting containers among your gardens. My favorite thing about your gardens and containers, Jeff, is that they allow the viewer to run through such a wide range of emotions depending on where we look... from peaceful, to joyful, to downright playful! Oh, did I mention the outrageous factor that mysteriously takes hold the end of October? Aside from all the backbreaking work that goes into the creation of your own piece of heaven, there is no question that the little devil in you sneaks in wherever possible! Today, I'm going with happy, they make me very happy!

So lush and so beautiful. Containers with succulents are all artistically displayed. Where do you plant Sarracenia and how do you take care of them? Love your stone with succulents. Thanks for sharing Jeff. A true eye candy.
the Sarracenia are growing in a "mini bog" I made by sinking an old bathtub into the earth and filling with peat. the only thing I ever do is cut back in early spring before new growth starts and top dress with more peat

Love the tropical look to many of your photos. I have tried this year to make a bed that leans toward tropical. So far It is not very successful. I need to study your pictures.

Good morning, Jeff. You know you have a unique garden when we all could have picked it out as yours without Kim's help:) Love the Annabelles in the shade under that gorgeous tree. How do you keep your clivia from burning? We had to move ours out of the solarium for some construction and despite being in shade, she's not at all happy. Has your argentea flowered for you? It's just stunning in that copper colored pot. Your octopus ( Legs?) put a smile on my face.

the clivia gets no direct sun at all and does fine, the easiest plant I have. the salvia normally flowers in it's second year then dies but I usually have plantlets to carry on but not always

Lovely as always. I guess I have lead a sheltered life as I had never seen a crevice planter before, but love the look. Being a southerner, of course you have to have hydrangeas in you garden and Annabelle is such a southern lady. I was going to suggest 'Ursala' for the octopus (Octopus baddie from the Little Mermaid) but like Octavia. The silver plants in the rusted pot footed by black scallop ajuga is an eye catcher. Thanks for sharing.
