Not to quibble, Janet...but your garden looks more than good, it looks great! The hubba hubba large hosta in picture #2 looks positively luscious. I love the furniture color theme on your upper deck...what a delightful place to sit and enjoy seeing much of your garden.

      Thank you so much.

Very nice Janet, but I hope you have ferns in your lovely garden. They are so cool and refreshing and come in such a variety of sizes and forms.

Thanks bill. I do have ferns. A friend gave me a few babies about ten years ago from her cottage garden and they have spread nicely and are large. Love them. I'll send some pictures soon

My, my. I think I would like to sit on the steps with coffee in hand. Beautiful!

Thank you so much. Now the back garden is looking like I want it but the front needs my major attention. Thank you again. I'll send more later.

It is looking good, Janet. I see you have my favorite Sambucus: Black Lace. What an easy and versatile shrub that works well in so many combinations.
Nice planters on your deck steps and what a nice garden view to draw one down and out into the garden.

    1. janet_sydoruk 08/23/2017

Thanks Tim. That black lace was moved so many times as it wasn't thriving then suddenly it appeared one year and looking good.

What a relaxing spot you have made for yourself. But with such a comprehensive view available I bet it's hard to sit on that deck and look down on your yard and not be constantly running up and down tweak this or tweak that .

The sambucus certainly is lovely----that immediately caught my attention. Maybe moving mine would help it along. It's been in for about three years and has hardly grown at all and usually has maybe one flower a year. Not exactly what I had in mind.

Good morning Janet! What a sweet garden you have created! I love your deck and with a view like that i would be out there quite a bit! Enjoy what is left with summer! Thanks

So nice to see your garden this morning in its summer prime.Janet.Love your lace leaf elderberry. That plant has been on my "to get" list all season and yours looks great with its neighboring hosta. You've also done a great job making your viewing areas as beautiful as your garden. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely! And what a wonderful view from your deck! That is a fabulous hosta in the second photo down. I look forward to seeing more photos! Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely view from what looks like a wonderful and comfortable lounging spot to rest and view all of the work you have done in your gardens. I love the combinations in your last photo Janet. Thank you for the beautiful views.

I am really enjoying all the color, vibrancy, contrast and textures in your garden!

Greetings, Janet, from a fellow Canadian on the West Coast. Your Hosta leaves look so fresh and healthy and I, too, love that Sambucus. Nice work!

Late getting in, but wanted to say that your backyard really is looking really good. What a pleasure it must be to tend and to enjoy from you deck.

Janet, you have a terrific Zone 5 Canadian garden. That 2nd photo with the Sambucus is my favorite. I hope you've had time to sit and relax in that wonderful patio of yours.
