Hot colors work in unison to create this eye-catching vignette in 15-year-old Gavin Younie’s garden in Portland, Oregon. In this planting, he paired the striped foliage and orange flowers of Canna ‘Tropicana’ with the pink-tinged, swordlike foliage of Phormium ‘Pink Stripe’ and the shocking red flowers of Penstemon ‘King George V’.
