Juniperus  × pfitzeriana ‘Daub’s Frosted’

This evergreen shrub has a low, spreading habit and attractive, two-toned foliage. The pendulous foliage tips are frosted with gold on the upper surface and blue-green foliage on the underside. ‘Daub’s Frosted’ reaches 15 inches tall by 5 feet wide at maturity. Dark purple fruit becomes paler later.

Noteworthy CharacteristicsEffective in group plantings that showcase its interesting foliage color.

CareGrows best in well-drained soil and full sun to part shade, but tolerates a wide variety of soils and conditions.

PropagationTake ripe cuttings in late autumn through winter and root in a humid cold frame. Or take softwood cuttings in summer under mist with bottom heat.

ProblemsLeaf miners, bark beetles, scale insects, aphids, mites, and caterpillars. Phomopsis twig blight, Gymnosporangium (cedar-apple) rust, dieback and canker, lesion nematodes, brown felt blight, and various heart and wood rots.
