CaliforniaRascal writes: What beautiful strawberries! My mom has 2 year old everbearing strawberry plants in a raised bed. They are healthy enough but there are some dead spots. The berries usually have odd shapes and some are quite small. We've also noticed little slugs invading. Do you have any suggestions? Posted: 7:20 pm on May 6th
Kate_Frank writes: That's an interesting confession! I help my clematis plants a little by tying them to whatever they're growing up, but the morning glories in my garden seem to be able to jump. Two summers ago, they actually busted through the screen in my kitchen window and were growing inside my house. Morning glories just don't know when to quit. I don't know if this is helping your phobia or not...

Anyway, we have a whole section devoted to growing vines that you might want to check out:

collinsnana writes: I have a confession and it's good for the soul. I am deathly afraid of climbing, twinning things like morning glories. I call it my Jack in the Beanstalk syndrome. I have 100+ roses and not a climber amongst them. My husband is
nostalgic over the morning glories his mother faithly planted each spring and bought me 3 packs of seeds last week with the expectation, of course, that I plant them. I have taken the first step, soaking them in water, hoping they'll get accidentally tossed, but now I find myself checking them every hour to see if anything is happening.

Question: How do you get them to start climbing up a support and what is the simplest support to use? Will they "tumble" down over a wall as well as grow up one? Posted: 3:12 pm on February 23rd
